Mr. S.Thavarajah who led the UPFA team at the last Northern Provincial Council elections was appointed as a council representative by the Commissioner of Elections on the 09th of April 2014. He is expected to be sworn in before His Excellency the President in his post, after the Sinhala/Tamil New Year holidays, says Hon. Douglas Devananda, Minister of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development and the Secretary General of the Eelam People's Democratic Party. (EPDP)

Water and electricity problems of these two regions were discussed.
