கலந்துரையாடியுள்ளார். யுத்தப் பாதிப்புக்குள்ளான
மக்களுக்குக் கூடுதலான உதவிகளை வழங்குதல் மதவாச்சி சோதனைச்
சாவடியில் நிலவும் பாதுகாப்புக் கெடுபிடிகளை நீக்குதல் வீதி
அபிவிருத்தித் திட்டங்கள் சமூக சேவைத் திட்டத்தின் கீழ்
மேற்கொள்ளப்படும் வலது குறைந்தோருக்கான உதவிகளைத்
துரிதப்படுத்துதல் போன்ற பல விடயங்கள் தொடர்பாக துரித
நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொள்வதெனவும் கடந்த 29 ஆம் திகதி கொழும்பில்
நடைபெற்ற ஆலோசனைக் கூட்டத்தில் முடிவெடுக்கப்பட்டது.
வட பகுதியிலுள்ள ஐந்து மாவட்டங்களின் செயலாளர்களும் வவுனியா
உதவி அரசாங்க அதிபர் திருமதி சாள்ஸ_ம் இந்தக் கூட்டத்தில்
பங்கு பற்றினர். கிளிநொச்சி மாவட்டச் செயலாளர் இராசநாயகம்
முல்லைத்தீவு மாவட்ட செயலாளர் திருமதி இமெல்டா சுகுமார்
மன்னார் மாவட்டச் செயலாளர் நீக்கிலாஸ்பிள்ளை யாழ். திட்டப்
பணிப்பாளர் குணராஜசிங்கம் மற்றும் வடபகுதித் திணைக்களங்களைச்
சேர்ந்த உயரதிகாரிகளும் இக்கூட்டத்தில் பங்குபற்றினர்.
மாவட்ட ரீதியாக மக்கள் எதிர் கொள்ளும் பிரச்சினைகள் திட்ட
அபிவிருத்திகளை முன்னெடுத்துச் செல்லுதல் போன்ற பல விடயங்களை
உள்ளடக்கிய அறிக்கையினை மாவட்டச் செயலாளர்கள் சமர்ப்பித்தனர்.
ஜனாதிபதி பாதுகாப்பு அமைச்சு சம்பந்தப்பட்ட அமைச்சர்கள்
ஆகியோருடன் பேசி மக்கள் நலன் சார்ந்த விடயங்களைத் துரிதமாக
முன்னெடுக்க ஆவன செய்வதாக அமைச்சர் உறுதியளித்தார். இதற்கு
அரசாங்கத்தின் உதவி மட்டுமல்ல நிகொட் நெக்டப் போன்ற அரச
சார்பற்ற நிறுவனங்களின் உதவிகளும் பெறப்படும் என்றும்
அமைச்சர் உறுதியளித்தார். அரச கட்டுப்பாட்டுப் பகுதி அரச
கட்டுப்பாடற்ற பகுதி என்ற இரு பகுதிகளுக்கும் கட்டம் கட்டமாக
அபிவிருத்தி நடவடிக்கைகளையும் மக்கள் நலன் சார்ந்த பணிகளையும்
எவ்வாறு முன்னெடுத்துச் செல்வது என்பது பற்றியும் விரிவாக
ஆராயப்பட்டது.
குறைந்த நிதி கொண்ட திட்டங்களை விரைந்து முன்னெடுப்பது
பற்றியும் சிக்கலான சில விடயங்களை எவ்வாறு கையாள்வது என்பது
பற்றியும் ஆராயப்பட்டது. பல திட்டங்களுக்குச் சிங்களப்
பெயர்கள் முன்வைக்கப்பட்டிருப்பதால் தமிழ் மக்கள் புரிந்து
கொள்வதில் ஏற்படும் சிக்கல்கள் பற்றி இங்கு சுட்டிக்
காட்டப்பட்ட போது இது தொடர்பாக ஏற்கனவே அமைச்சரவைப் பத்திரம்
சமர்ப்பிக்கப்பட்டு அவற்றின் சரியான தமிழ்ப் பதங்களை
பாவிப்பதற்கான அனுமதி கிடைத்துள்ளதாகவும் அமைச்சர்
தெரிவித்தார். எனவே தமிழ்ப் பதங்களைப் பயன்படுத்துமாறும்
அமைச்சர் பணிப்புரை விடுத்தார்.
மக்கள் நலன்சார்ந்த பணிகளை இயன்ற வரை விரைவாக முன்னெடுத்துச்
செல்லுமாறு பணிப்புரை விடுத்த அமைச்சர் இரண்டாம் கட்ட
சந்திப்பொன்றுக்கு விரைவில் ஏற்பாடு செய்யவேண்டுமென்றும்
தெரிவித்தார்.
நடைபெற்ற சந்திப்பில் புதுக்குடியிருப்பு பிரதேச சபைத் தலைவர்
செபமாலை திஸ்ஸவீரசிங்கம் அமைச்சரின் மன்னார் இணைப்பாளர்
ஹரிச்சந்திரா வவுனியா இணைப்பாளர் ஆகியோரும் பங்கு பற்றினர்.
Minister Douglas Devananda had a
meeting with the key officials of the northern province
and discussed regarding the day today, basic and long-
standing problems faced by people of north and to find
ways and means to solve them.
He
assured to take immediate action to grant more relief
assistances to the war victims to end the problems faced
by the public at the Madawachchiya check point, Road
development projects, Assistance granted to disabled
persons by the Social Service Department etc.
The
meeting was held in Colombo in his ministry office. All
five Secretaries of the north including Kilinochchy
Distrist Secretary, Rasanayagam, Mullaitivu Distrist
Secretary, Mrs. Imelda Sugumar and Vavuniya AGA, Mrs.
Charles, Jaffna Planning Director, Gunarajasingam and key
officers of the northern province departments participated
in this meeting.
District Secretaries submitted reports to the minister
regarding the problems faced by the people on the district
basis and the development projects to be taken forward in
their districts. The officials pointed out of to the
minister that several projects are with Sinhala names and
the people are unable to understand them. Minister said
that he has already submitted the Cabinet paper in this
regard and the cabinet has approved to use correct Tamil
words for it and minister told them to use Tamil words
instead of the Sinhala words.
Discussions were held to take forward development works in
the government controlled area as well as in the uncleared
areas separately. Minister made instructions for speedy
actions for the welfare of the people. The minister said
arrangements would be made for a second meeting of this
nature very soon.

Tissaverasinham and coordinators for Mannar and Vavuniya,
Harischandra and Rahu also participated in this meeting.
